The Osteospermum 'Picasso', commonly known as the African Daisy, is a highly ornamental, half hardy perennial renowned for its striking blooms. Each flower features a deep, dark violet-blue central disk surrounded by petals that transition seamlessly from a pale, silvery-white base to vibrant purple tips. With its naturally compact and bushy growth habit, it provides an exceptional, long-lasting floral display for sunny summer borders, rock gardens, and outdoor patio containers.

Care Guide:

Perfect for Sunny borders, patio containers, and coastal gardens
Light required Full, direct sun. The blooms are nyctinastic, meaning they will only open fully in bright sunlight and will close at night or on heavily overcast days.
Water Prefers highly well-drained soil. Water consistently during dry spells, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out between waterings. It is highly drought-tolerant once established in the ground.
Hardiness Half-hardy (H3). It will require frost protection or overwintering in a greenhouse to survive the UK winter, though it is often simply treated as a summer annual.
Pollinators The wide, open central disks provide an excellent source of nectar and pollen for bees and hoverflies.
Toxicity Non-toxic to humans and pets.
Flowering period Blooms prolifically from early summer through to early autumn. Regular deadheading of spent flowers is essential to encourage continuous bud production.
