Chlorophytum Comosum Vittatum is the classic, retro spider plant. Making a resurgence in 2021, this plant was long forgotten for a good 10-12 years in the plant world, but has since become a staple in most Brighton apartments during lockdown. Its slender, creamy-white stripes down the centre of its leaves and small, white starry flowers form loose sprays attached by short stems that bear resemblance to baby spiders, hence the name Spider Plant.
The Chlorophytum Comosum will tolerate lower light conditions, however they prefer bright, indirect light and will flourish in these conditions. The striping on the leaves will become more prominent with indirect lighting, so avoid direct sunlight, which will scorch the leaves.
